Oatmeal in my rice cooker!

I bought a rice cooker a while back and have really enjoyed trying different things to cook in it. This is the best and easiest way I have found to cook oatmeal. No stirring! The oatmeal comes out perfect everytime. Great for school mornings.

1 1/4 cups large flake rolled oats

2 tablespoons wheat bran

1 pinch salt

1/3 cup raisins or 1/3 cup other dried fruit or 1/3 cup fresh fruit (optional)

2 1/2 cups water

add all ingredients to the rice cooker close lid and start! That is it.

Great idea for family get togethers instead of cooking breakfast all day long while people slowly get up.

What a great idea. I will have to try this with Audrey. She helped me make oatmeal the old fashioned way this morning and she loved it. I will let her make some in the rice cooker soon. Thanks for this great idea!

We have cooked in the rice cooker several times and find it makes the oatmeal a bit mushy. Wondering if that is just my cooker or the way it cooks.
